Love poems come and go
Some too fast, some too slow
Words spoken that entice and seduce
Who writes this stuff that’s obtuse?
People in love, that’s who
You know who you are, it’s true
Silly verses written by those
Who die slowly if only he’d propose
Swept away to places unknown
By simple words in a poem
People in love, you know who you are
Sing and shout, profess from afar
Mere verse with simple rhyme
Kept in secret forever in time
Young and old, we fall for the lyric
That pierce our hearts and undo the satiric
People in love stand up and sing
Dreams carried on feathered wing

Actually my husband never writes poetry he just listens to mine and says that is nice dear. But he did not have to write me poetry when he proposed. He was sitting in a rocking chair on his mother's front porch and almost rocked off the darn thing. Oh well I guess you could say his poetry was in motion.
