Don’t send flowers when I’m gone
Instead rise up and sing a song
Embellish the good times, forget the bad
Remember the humor, don’t be so sad
For I am mortal and made mistakes
Don’t shed a tear for my namesake
Time will tell if I made a difference
In people’s lives without intolerance
I tried my best to do what’s right
But mistakes prevent me to unite
With those I promised to love forever
Through good times and stormy weather
Family and friends gather around
Remember that my love surrounds
Those special to me and made me laugh
Write something funny for my epitaph
Some will say I was too serious
But I preferred those challenges mysterious
Don’t send flowers when I’m gone
Instead hold hands and lean upon
Your faith in God and the goodness of man
Despite my shortcomings I had a plan
To live simply and speak the truth
But I was sidetracked and became the sleuth
great write, keith! when i die, i want people to celebrate! i don't want anyone to be sad when i am gone! i have had a good life, and i pray this continues before i go! (not all aspects of my life were good, but i have had more good and bad; so that is worth celebrating, right??...)
