Silence kills like a slow beating heart
Why are we here, when did we start?
To deafen our ears from words once sweet
Now we stay apart and refuse to meet
Tell me you loved before the silence set in
Consumed by grief by body wears thin
Two who told stories until late in the night
Now turn away—one to the left, the other to the right
Cupid’s arrow now dulled from indifference
Cannot pierce hearts once filled with exuberance
Time has a way of stealing our dreams
Leaving two as one in this grand scheme
Tear ducts barren of precious water
After years of sorrow between a father and daughter
Remember when we laughed until we cried
My memories now deserted as if I’ve died
You were my life until we parted ways
Please don’t forget the yesterdays
Forgiveness is elusive if we refuse to believe
That broken hearts can once again cleave
And mend the pain deep inside
Lift our spirits and choose not to hide
From wounds meant to heal and soothe the ear
I’m sorry for the hurts—I love you dear

Well I hope that she sees this and while my father and I always had such a good relationship I had to sit down and forgive my mother for things. But thanks to my mother I grew strong and I had a wonderful relationship right up to the end.
Take care,
Sherry
