After all is said and done
Makes no difference if you’ve lost or won
Single, married, white, or black
Liberal, conservative, or Democrat
We talk to the man at the pearly gate
Only he decides our heavenly fate
Rich or poor, important or not
Makes no difference to this earthly lot
Good deeds, misdeeds, or a life of sin
Pray if you must but you may not get in
Talk to the man at the pearly gate
If it’s God you want to set you straight
Dumb or smart, followers or leaders
Makes no difference to sacrosanct pleaders
Church-goer, wannabe, saved or seeker
Follow the path to the ultimate speaker
Talk to the man at the pearly gate
If it’s earth you’re dying to escape
Man, woman, baby, or child
Makes no difference to the undefiled
Sooth-sayer, charlatan, believer or not
Frocked or chained, noble or squat
Talk to the man at the pearly gate
If you wish to live forever without debate
