Bittersweet when last we meet
At heaven’s door, a momentous leap
From our earthly chains
Of suffering and pain
Two young lovers with faith and hope
Divided later refusing to cope
Bittersweet without skipping a beat
We frolic like finely tuned athletes
Not so just seconds before
Wheelchair bound on the floor
Frail and broken, words never spoken
The doors of eternal life now open
Bittersweet this magnificent feat
Time travel after death we cheat
Once human and full of despair
Now angelic without a care
Except to love each other we find
Especially those left behind
Bittersweet this heavenly treat
After human form cannot compete
With secular demands of toil and sweat
Once enslaved with many a regret
Finally arrived at heaven’s feast
Tis worth the wait to overcome the beast
This one says volume, even I'm at a lost to find out who and what is relating to "Bittersweet", but I find myself enjoying the poem and its message delivered. Both subtle and direct for some reasons.
Timeless wisdom and advice on the art of living for today’s young and old: The art of thinking, the art of loving, the art of working, the art of leadership, the art of growing old.
