A canopy of lights above

Time steals kinetic energy
Prohibits reclusive synergy
Two people deceived by reality
Prefer to live in fantasy
Sensor overload delights
Our momentary flight
Lovers lulled to sleep
By promises professed to keep
Intertwined in each other’s arms
Dreams that sedate and charm
Reposed on nature’s bed
Without any fear or dread
Alas the sun appears
Contentment replaced by fears
Two hands pull apart
And pierce their vulnerable hearts
Another night stolen by two
Before the morning dew
