A saucy and amusing romp in days of yore with Knight, Fair Maiden, and a trusty steed!....
Ride Them To The Hilt....
Once my friends in days gone by
there lived a Maiden fair,
And she declared undying love for a Knight
who rode a Mare...
Knight rode her long,
He rode her fast
Uphill and down the dales,
While Maiden waited patiently
To hear of all his tales. He fought the best within the land
Their horses proud and strong,
But he rode his Mare right to the hilt
She never did him wrong.
He fed her with the sweetest treats
that made her want to win
and keep her Lord so satisfied
He boasted to his kin...I ride her long,
I ride her hard,
I ride her to the hilt,
She never, ever let's me down,
and I do never wilt.
His lady Maiden young and fair
wished him to take her hand,
And make her happy all the time,
and wear his golden band...
Knight heard of this by word of mouth
and keen now to return,
he saddled up his faithful steed
for his Maiden he did yearn..
So he rode her up
He rode her down,
He rode her to the hilt,
And lightly spanked her with his whip
Which caused a little guilt..
He raced back home
with passion high
To find his lady love,
To soothe, caress and woo her hand,
To cradle like a Dove.
The Wedding came
It was so grand
And he was there to take her hand.
The Breakfast feast was all laid out
Rich spread for all to see,
And he fed her all the sweetest treats,
And sat her on his knee..
He kissed and stroked and held her hand
The fairest Maiden in the Land...
Their Wedding night approaching fast
He took her to his room,
And there they made the sweetest love
Beneath a mellow Moon.
He rode her up,
He rode her down
He rode her to the hilt,
And on this night of ecstasy
Their future life was built.
What happened to his loyal Mare
You just may want to know...
Well she acquired another Knight
Who cared and loved her so.
He rode her up he rode her down,
He showed her off around the Town.
In time she found a big strong Horse
who wanted her to stay,
And she agreed and eye to eye
she gave a little 'Neigh'...
So...he rode her up
He rode her down
He rode her to the hilt,
And on this night of ecstasy
Their future life was built.
Now all is quiet for Knight and Mare
As family life ensued,
With ten young children,
Four young foals,
All happy with their brood...
So ride them up,
And ride them down,
This message has to be...
To live and love
then settle down..
For all Eternity...
I LOVED THIS WORK AND 'ESPECIALLY' THE LAST LINES TO WHICH I'LL ADD A COUPLE OF WORDS; THIS MESSAGE HAS TO BE
TO LIVE & LOVE THEN 'HAVE THE SENSE'
TO SETTLE DOWN...FOR ALL ETERNITY!
WELL DONE AND SO ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
When I read poetry...when I read anything for that matter...I want to be able to understand it. Not only do I understand this piece, I find it to be cleverly done and highly entertaining. It was just plain fun to read from beginning to end. I have read it several times now, and it doesn't appear that I am going to tire of it anytime soon. I sincerely hope there are more of these in store for us.
The kind of tale of knights and ladies that I really like, in spite of the repetition, the erotic overtones were fantastic. Is it true that if a woman rides bareback astride a stallion, it's one long orgasm?
A joyful romp through the meadows of life "on a mare" no less.
Enjoyed this medieval tale with its fantastic rhymes and rhythms.
Suggestion: it could be broken up better into verse
since there is a clear structure built into the poem. Well done.
A people’s heart can be found in their poetic words. In history men and women have stood firmly upon their soapboxes and street corners, rallying the deepest beliefs of people to rise up and be heard. The poetrypages.com has offered that voice a new

Lady Mary Ann
You were ever so right when you said, "A saucy and amusing romp," it was certainly that my friend.
But, "To live and love"
Is a great pleasure, indeed!
Thanks for sharing, Diana!
