A writing about old familiar faces you see...

In her eyes
I see
the pain and
hurt
not knowing how
to deal
with situations
so real

I once
saw her
so pretty and
 nice
now I see
 her
after glancing
twice

her looks
distorted by
use and abuse
she’s not
the same
drugs and booze
played a hard
game.

Her eyes
once had life
and she had
dreams
now
life’s a
slow throttle
with her
bottle

I agree with everyone here, Lavender. The eyes are definitely the windows to the soul, and if they are dark, patchy, and almost closed, then we know that those eyes have been through so much abuse. That abuse can be physical for lack of sleep, or due to alcohol, or illegal drugs, or a combination of all of these. A beautiful person can be turned into a caricature of theirselves, through this abuse.

Just say "NO! TO DRUGS, ALCOHOL, AND OTHER ABUSE." ABUSE MUST END!

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your den sister, Barbie

Her eyes tell a tale that, sadly, so many experience in this age of addiction and drug abuse. Well done, Lavendar.

They say windows are the eyes to the soul: these reveal pain and sadness so deep, one wonders if Sheila will ever recover - powerfully penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
