Mothers day will be coming soon, along with Janes anniversary when she had an appointment with Heaven. For all those who have lost their mothers and feel lost in themselves. Let's remember the good times and thank God how lucky we were to have been given the gift of Life. The photo is from Christchurch Cathedral of St. Luke portraying The Virgin Mary, mother of God. Mother of all Mothers. Blessed be her children.

MOTHER

…you were everything to me

The air that I breathed

   The earth that grounded

My provider, my advisor

  My protector once dad was

 gone

Without you it feels like

The sun has never really shone

I took everything you did

  For granted

I never had a care

  Because for me

You were always there

  A shoulder to cry on

When I faced heart break

  You’d smile sweetly

And bake me a cake

  Or pick me a flower

Or give me a dress

  That you bought or would

 make

You were so clever

  I didn’t need a dictionary

If I needed a word

  That I hadn’t heard

You’d find it for me

An artist, a scholar

  A mother in one

Yet humble and comforting

  And now you are gone

There’s no one to comfort me

  The way you could

You smelt of roses

  You really did

I used to think the scent of

  The flowers you grew

Wafted on your skin

Ballerina, iceberg, you grew them

  For me

I could not pronounce their latin names

  But you could easily

You could cook, sew, paint decorate

  And make my world

Safe and warm

  Of which I could never

Replicate

You treated me like a Princess

And let me wear the crown

Whilst you worked so hard to maintain us

  I acted the clown

The world was my oyster you used to say

But you were the Pearl Mum

Happy Mothers Day.

Dedicated to Jane D. Williams may you rest in peace.

Also dad john h.r. williams r.i.p.

love you both.
