A Mother's Lament

A poem I just wrote for my friend Elaine and her precious daughter deceased Midnight last. A friend of mine lost her Daughter aged 27 to cancer last night. She had given birth prematurely two and a half months ago and the baby lives, and will not know her Mother. So very sad for a parent to lose a child. I cannot imagine how painful this is. I pray God can help her through this. The daughter was such a loving girl, and is out of her suffering now in a Heaven.

A Mother's Lament God please take this child of yours In your gracious arms Protect her from all harm Although her Mother weeps for her And feels an empty void Please fill up her heart with grace And knowing that her child Is in a better place Though Dark days have descended Here for her family Her Spirit has transcended Into pure energy Please Lord shine a Light For all to see And grant her Mother Peace and serenity And the knowledge one day They will be reunited In Eternity.
