Poem Artwork

     Musee with an Accent

Paintings, statues, and unclassified works
of value I can't assess dangle without rhyme
or reason from nails I hammered headless.
What appear to be Dollar Tree hooks
I felt sure I lost.   Wire from coat hangers
cursed into bending?   Colors run black
onyx through bone through snow nearly
blue.   Reds  riot  as  reds  are  wont  to.
Green as usual attempts to soothe,  often
ends up playing the ghoul, and yellow,
fighting for its virginity, succumbs more
than succeeds.  Primaries bleed across
the color wheel, are never the same again.
Laser show new -- like it?  Attar of roses
and the smell of new-mown hay entertain
the inner child, as do reaching in to feel
fur, rock, sand, et cet, et cet.  That's on
the mezzanine.  Take the escalator up
to check out our seX eXhibit.  Amazing
paraphernalia.  Highly educational.  Note
the dearth of signs saying Do not Touch.
Here you may feel to your heart's content.

Welcome to the gallery in the back
of my head!   Bathrooms right, restaurant,
see map.  No need to go overboard
with the oohs and ahs.  Mess, I agree.
But it is a mess I cannot help.  As in,
can't help but love.   Back to the restaurant,
do not leave without trying our BLT.
Got your CIA chef-prepared sole, got
your organic nut butters.  Sip espresso
along with tastes of heaven from our dessert
tray.  Mousse, hot fudge, creme broulee. . .
make you ah  for real.  Things suck [assume
you're familiar], got this retreat.  Gallery
temperature- and humidity-controlled, so
the air, if not exactly pure, is a far sight
better than what one runs into Out There.
Come on, admit you got one.  Lot neater,
I expect.  Less junk, more real finds?
Still, you slip back to relish treasures
not strictly objets d'art.  Ask if you give
a fig!  Life without collecting out of love?
Please.   Now, let's go back and check
on that masterpiece Van Gogh swirled
to life.   Strikes me as almost as surreal
as that mishmash of non-art drives us here.
Vincent, que pensez-vous ?

Yes, a collage of delight. I stayed a bit at the seX eXhibit. Lost track of time. lol. Mess? I've got one. I love to collect too. This is a wonderful write. Really stirred the imagination and was healing for my inner child. An artists treat was what I found. Brilliant. Liz

Collage on Decompauge on Acrylic vibes to fit all fig types without the batteries on the SeX eXhibit - Sweetwater mannequin anatomically correct, just stands there with her hands on 'er hips not sayin' jus' any word - jasper 'n amber gemstones y'know where - tell yer fortune today - aura portrait says dig out yer green stamps from the 60s an' paste 'em on! Pasties they call 'em. It'll take a lot of 'em! Had a great time at the gallery collecting memorabilia and American...Musee with an Accent sculpts real time, Pea...I can't thank you enough for this one...inspiration for the inner child...

Sage

I agree, Pea, it really does sound crowded in there. Be careful or the fire department will declare that overcrowded and a fire hazard. LOL. Sometimes we collect so much mental junk, it is worse than being a pack rat. I have thoughts from years ago to still sort through, I have thoughts from last week to really sort and throw out what I don't want to keep. You have written a very surreal, and esoteric piece, Pea, and it gives the reader something to really think about. OH NO! Now we have more mental junk to sort through. Thanx for sharing sis.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

Sounds a whole lot like a very crowded museum, but if not for collecting out of love, why else collect. Very interesting and a wonderful attention keeper....

Be always safe,
Karen

Do take the dollar tree things, you can have the BLT, not especially needed by me,choc mousse and cream brulee I love to have and it is a real treat when I do have them. Each to their own.

Seems kinda crowded in there, Phyllis. But I'm loving it. Right
now I'm lost somewhere above the mezzanine, feeling my way around
in the SeX eXhibit. Wonderfully done. - Gene.

My favorite lines: "Mess, I agree. But it is a mess I cannot help. As in, can't help but love. ..." And I do - implicitly. :) Well done, my dear!
