B l e s s . y o u !! Going to write to as many of you as I can, but there is no way that I can thank you enough for all you have done. Good thing you're good at reading between lines! Gratefully, 'Pea'
Speed Bump {Anonymous} Rain again. Half-mad eyes reflect from a soaked road. Go back, the windshield wipers rasp. Forth-back-forth-back- backback. . .tires are hissing, Run!! Know how to escape, so go for it!! It will be fast.. It will be easy. Just race around the corner, get out and open the door to the store where the bottles wait, shining with eagerness to serve. One little sip can't hurt. Feel it glide, oh so soft, down, down, down. It is so nice. It is so warm. Wait! Seem to recall your throwing me to the ground and grinding me beneath your heel. Like I'd forget that honeyed tongue. Creaming to your practiced moans and whispers. Begging for the sting of one more kiss. If wishes were horses, ride like the wind, not look forward, back, to one side. But you are a devil breed of hyena that screeches with a tongue smooth as paper. Know how paper can cut. Your tongue is forked. Breath fiery as a dragon's. Turns toxic with little warning. Senses vulnerable, pounce! No, that door is going to stay closed. You see, this soul is still open to feeling. Being real. Friends including the Creator are willing to lend stronger minds and spines. Help create love-knots rather than ties that bind so fast, you bleed. Help weave ribbons none want to undo. No. Answer is No. Before turning toward home, look how rain polished and buffed. Check for a rainbow! (c) Phyllis Jean Green, January, 2009

This one is so multi-layered, so complex, I get a different feeling every time I read it. I see someone trying to escape an abusive relationship; I see someone wanting to take solace in drink; I see someone coming to their senses, looking for hope, whether in her own strength or in others'. You can't just skim over this one, gotta watch out for that speed bump of reality. Well done, Pea.

The speed bumbs in life are more real than i can say...they a huge...and I keep bumping my head...flying right through them at high speed!!
