Butterscotch. . .icebox pie. . .fudge ripple!
All tempt to wax poetic, but one is too full.
But words?   Words are. . .ahhhhhhh.   Roll
A syllable around in the mouth, then another
And another.  Feel the tingle, revel in blended
flavors devilishly rich.   S lo-o-o-o-owly let them
Make a kiddie slide of one’s throat.  So easy
On the stomach, after.  Eat all we want, not
Get queasy.  Okay, once.  No calories, say. 
Sweet yet most avoid being saccharine.  Yum.

Here’s a little sample to chew on:

Whisper, zither, limpid, clandestine, moon,
Lamplight.   Cozy, cranny, alcove, secret, love-
Lorn.  Flounder, bounce, ascend, pirouette. 
Loon,  horizon, ozone,  iridesce.  Haunt, shiver,
Skeletal, aghast.  Inlet, freshet, tadpole, bubble,
Gurgle, skate.   Butterfly, caterpillar, cerulean,
Vivid, sun-drenched.  Luminous, incandescent,
Azalea, amaryllis, fragile.  Shallows, depths,
Mariner, rhinestone, glow, shine.  Fizzle, litter,
Literal, panic, pandemonium, polemic.   Fling, 
Abandon, embrace.  Abacus, ziggurat, ancient,
Astrological, astronomical.  Icicle, snowflake,
Ermine, onyx, chiaroscuro, dove, shade.   Couple, 
Fantastical, fabulous, fleeting, besotted, languid,
Lackadaisical.  Freezing, frigid, froze.  Clings,
Grates, clung, clang, clash.  Luscious, salacious,
Scrumptious, orgasmic, delicious, silent, boom.
Sugar, honey, sweetheart, babe.  Fly-by-night,
Will-o’the-wisp, nowhere, nohow, nada, zilch,
Zed, cancel, shred, file, toss, forget.

So many thoughts and feelings that so many words
Cannot express.  No matter how many syllables
Samba.  Only a poet would be fool enough to try.
