Poem Artwork

Someone wants to know if my aesthetic journey
Instilled confidence.   Is Life not such a trip?
But, yes, the arts tapped some deep yearning
That led to healing escape as I became gripped

By paintings, drawings, stories, and poems.
That in time began to include my own.
Were I Queen,  we'd all carry feather-light stones
Engraved,  "See?  You are not Alone."

In tiny print:  "Give yourself over to creating
Works of art that take the sting out of feeling.
That teach people alternatives to hating.
That heal, then reach deep, to speed the healing.

Help us know ourselves better.  Help us add,
instead of subtract.  Glow, instead of blind.
That it is okay to vacillate between sane and mad,
If you're honestly trying to light hearts and minds."

Fittingly my trip began with the Wonderland of Alice,
Then a grade-school teacher lavished praise
On a tiny tale, transporting me to a glittering palace
Where Once upon a Time could keep pain at bay.

Always the hope that what we create will last.
No art?  I could not survive such a fast.

PEA, I've been into art since I was nine,
drawing and writing, helping me tremendously.
Beautifully said.
Always,
Deborah

I agree, Pea. If everybody in the world would heed these words, then we could put a stop to crime, war, hate, discrimination, bigotry, and unpleasant feelings of being lost.

Being creative is being one of the beautiful people that see a rainbow even if it hasn't rained. Being creative is seeing the sun even on a very cloudy and windy day. Being creative is making the world a better place to live through the diversity of art. Being creative is to live in the Lord's light He has given us.

Let us be the creative people of the universe, creating the color scheme of our minds. Let us Tie dye the world in color and peace.

OMG, I'm, sorry Pea, but this peace just takes me away on a journey of happiness and peace that I could ramble on and on about "what the world needs now, is love, sweet love..." Thank you for sharing.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

I have always said there were two kinds of people in the world: those that take and destroy and those who give and build. You have given me two more.

We could surely use all of that, today. I'd vote for you, as Queen!

I think to be a writer or for that matter any type of artist we have to let our minds go in whatever direction they choose...whether it ber down a rabbit hole or into a fox hole in a war ravaaged country.

Pea,
I hear this above all other sounds today in my head,
hear it and love it...and personally any form of fasting
except the absolute necessary never did anything for me.
Gorgeous work.

It is amazing who inspires us along our journey isn't it. For me it was my 10th grade English teacher, she gave me my passion for Shakespeare and the written word of the masters. I love this poem, each one of us can certainly relate to it's bountiful offerings.

Peace, love and light,
Amber

Love this honoring of art. I agree. It is so important and healing and often the only way our souls can express their depths.
