Claustrophic feel to this one--the air hunger clearly evident in your words--hopefully, this is based on fiction, but I have a feeling it's not--excellent expression!
when my sister and I share a motel room, she says i quit breathing and just as she is about to wake me, i start again...is this apnea? i love it cause it drives her crazy :}

My husband has this problem but has gotten away from the mask thing. He did lose weight and has his diabetes under control. Thanks for this write.
