I’M ONLY IN THE WAY
I woke up on this morn
Feeling oh so blue
I came to you in prayer
Dear Lord
Not knowing what to do.
I know you have a plan for me
You’re not done with me somehow.
I’m feeling old and in the way
But still I’m praying everyday.
I pray you’ll use me even now
My body’s frail but then,
You know just where you want me
And I pray that even when,
I’m feeling not so useful
I’m only in the way
You’ll lead me and protect me
And restore me just today.
I wake each day to serve you
And know there’s lots to do
I wait for you to tell me
And I’ll go there just for you.

So many times I've felt this way, but God has a plan for all of us. God led me to a wonderful church. We go to nursing homes and sing to the residents, that is rewarding for me. God uses my poetry in my church and on the net to help people. God has me in a good place right now, still there are times I feel 'old and useless'. I think all of us go through that at one time or another. Keep the faith, dear heart.
