If the government can't stand

To let the power go

Then democracy is gone

And society would over grow

To deplete the common man

But to keep as though a fawn

To be innocent and meek

Is how our government should stay

And take heed to all who seek

To spread as ripples in a pond

Oh but wont it be the day

When change encompasses our being

Almost always for the better

Life takes on a whole new meaning

And our affliction drifts away
