Thank you, First National Bank for bringing happiness to all children and to me!

Poem Artwork

Today the March winds blew and blew

My hair in directions flew and flew.

Grit and grime and soil swirled round

Like sand on beaches to me was bound.

Wind tossed I stood on a city street

Waiting on traffic…I did bleep.

Anxious to move to my destiny keep;

Not be late Alice in Wonderland sleep.

Out of the blue stood a rabbit white;

Candy in hand—he was a lovely sight.

Camera in tow—dashed he—safety’s sake

In search for children a picture to take.

As large as life he stood with a grin

Arm on my shoulder, oh what a friend.

To find out later I knew him—I did!

“Tell Charles, hello!” he did bid.

Well, I’ll declare, my very own bank

Sent out the white rabbit, to them I will thank!

First National Bank, you’re one of a kind

The rabbit was special to this wind blown mind.

I went back to my car and sat there in style

Feeling so good, my heart was a smile.

It made me feel good to know for awhile

Inside this adult—I felt like a child.

I got to be the bunny in 1995 for Shoney's in the Easter Parade. It was a lot of fun and yes I felt like a child too.
