I grew up with a Mother who was raised in the convent with the nuns, Mom was two when her mother died and her Aunt was a nun. Rumors oh yes we heard them and today we know the truth it wasn't always in their sleep. LOL. Great write.

A lyrical tragedy intermixed with irony. There is a romantic sense of humor in this and I love this one!
When I was young, my favorite story was the Thornbirds.

I too remember while attending Catholic school as a kid talk and rumours of priests and nuns. Anna would recommend you ask Rose for a copy of her book as it runs along the same lines and takes place in Nfld as well.

What a big step here Annabel. Much different from many of your writings and quite courageous. Look at the themes here: your childhood, religion, men women relationships, love, the forbidden. These are comparatively new themes for you as far as I know yet done so well and you bring to that heart-felt honesty which is your trademark.

Aah...conflicted love. What would the world be without it? I enjoyed this from beginning to end, Anna. I think this happens more than we know. Sexuality and/or the need to feel connected is pretty vital to most people. I couldn't do it. Bless them:)
