"A sonnet to the man I'd dreamed I'd meet...." I'm a bit confused on this title, Anna. My assumption is that you'd dreamed of meeting this man; you've dreamed of meeting such a man but had not and the words you speak are but the hopeful part of that dream. If this be the case, then I am truly sorry that your dream has not come to be, and as one that does consider you as a friend, I do hope that this dream does come true for you as I believe, though we have never actually met, I do believe that you are one terrific lady and would want nothing more for you than for this dream to become reality.
