I went for a walk in the warm autumn woods
With a bag full of memories and 'Dog',
And the 'dirty-sock' smell of the cranberry bush
Well, it did give old memories a jog
And I harkened on back to the autumns of old
To those golden fall days of my youth
To those times when I thought I'd forever to live
And it did bring one hard to face truth;
The truth that these autumns are slipping away
One by one like the last days of summer
And past autumns and I shall be swallowed by time
And I thought to myself "what a bummer".
But the one consolation I took from it all
Was the fact that when my life is done
That the bag full of memoriesand warm autumn walks
Would live on in due time with my son!
Just another reflection on life...
