The river runs on to its date with the sea
Chuckling by in the half-moon's reflection
And for solace and peace and a spirit set free
Why, I swear this is darn near perfection
Away from the crowds, and the worries and cares
Sitting here 'neath a pungent pine tree
The music of water cavorting on rocks
Is all part of a grand symphony
It's not that I'm antisocial at all
It's just that I've always preferred
The sound of a loon's wild and warbling call
Or the song of an evening bird
For man's life nowadays just seems to be full
Of a raucus and whining discord
And so that is why I sit under God's sky
So just try and bear with me please Lord!
