Happy birthday little lord, best wishes come from me, you say that God’s 'OUR father,' so that makes US 'F A M I L Y,' I love that it's your birthday, in spite of ALL this FUSS, the merchants still exploit you , and the cost is WAY too much. I think you’d say ‘it’s awful,’ ( the greed, and rush, and such.) So many times your birth seems hid…, the meaning of it lost amid…, gluttons, banquets, noise and greed, absence of...YOUR fathers’ seed, of swaddling cloth, and of Mary's need . Absence of Joseph's fear ( far from home with birth so near .) Absence of a lonely night... a kind Inn keeper doing RIGHT. Champagne and glitter swamp YOUR day to almost blot YOUR trace away. Happy birthday little Lord, The Star STILL shines on you , Just like that night YOUR day burns bright, we celebrate...it’s true , But somehow, I DO wonder, what gift... YOU ...might request? I sort of feel you would appeal for the world to give...‘ITS BEST.’ I believe you’d say ‘spend your cash… not upon YOUR own, but spend it on the poor and weak, and those without a home. I sort of feel that you’d appeal (instead of gifts now here,) that we might feed the starving poor... help LOVE and PEACE appear. Happy birthday little Jesus, ( in YOUR swaddling cloth and straw,) may you have the gifts you TRULY crave, today…and ever more
