You are a friend, America,

with your red and white and blue,

you are an eagle soaring high...

we lift our eyes ,and smile on you.

You are a brother’s warm embrace,

You lead the way ..you set the pace.

sometimes, when you were wounded,

your pain has touched us too,

and the hearts inside my land

they've wanted so... to hold your hand,

and tell you;

’ Dearest friend, we are standing right by you’.

Australia thinks so highly

of Miss liberty and her United States,

we stand by you fervently

and as family… we share your fates.

So on your Independence day,

walk with heads up high,

enjoy the firework's bright display

in your northern sky...

toast to freedom,

and feel our hearts,

right there... by your side,

celebrate your country

and wave your flags with pride.


Celebrate your courage,

and the fact you stand so strong ,

and we will say… ‘ good on you mate!’
