Mummy...When I grow up!' ( 4 THE POETRY COMP)

Mummy...,
when I grow up
the world will be...'ALL well',
there'll be million more stars then,
I know it...I can tell.

When I grow up mummy,
there'll be more trees for shade,
and by that time

 there'll be NO WAR,

so you wont feel ...'afraid.'

Mummy,
it will be fine when I grow up,

you’ll see...
there'll be more kindness

 E V E R Y W H E R E ...
and I will help to make THAT be.

Everyone will own a home with lots of food to SHARE
and no body will feel alone
and EVERYONE ....WILL care.

Mummy,
there'll be no guns
or battles to cause pain,
there'll be NO Armies anywhere

so you'll relax.... again.

When I grow up mummy,
the winters will be cozy,
and poor folk wont be sleeping in the park,
the those with MORE

will help the poor

so all will think life's rosy,

and nobody will  fear what's

IN ...The Dark.

And mummy...
there'll be water there in ALL the driest lands,
pipelines reaching

 E V E R Y W H E R E,
wetting thirsty lips and hands.

And the rainforests mummy?
We'll make them grow again,

kids like me ,we WONT forget,

we'll make it better...THEN.

When I grow up mummy,

no bombs will be on Earth,
and cars will run on sunshine NOT on oil,
and the rivers

will be clean again,

I know that it WILL happen WHEN...

I grow up mummy,in a little while.

What is that little frown of doubt on your forehead mum?

Don't you believe a better way of life can EVER come?

Mummy,

children watch and learn AND they want GOOD things

to return,

so you can COUNT on what I say:

'WE will fix it ALL one day,

we WONT make the same mistakes as YOU !'

NO use in being 'sorry' mummy,

but thank you anyway...

and us kids ARE going to

 fix the MESS

you GROWN UPS made

....ONE DAY !

The problem is she/he will grow up to become the same as the rest of us, it is the way of life...I wish this could happen, but maybe i am too pessimistic, the least we can do is pray/wish, peace, ED & Rufuz

Kay you are a winner just for writing this exceptional piece! It breaks the heart to know how so many generations have ruined it, and we just must pray that there will be youth who will look to set it right one day, though it seems impossible, there is always hope!Never say never!Great heartfelt write Kay! Bless your compassionate heart!
