Poem Artwork

When does tomorrow begin?
Yesterday was just a memory
Today feels empty so I wish it away
Tomorrow, where are you?

History is filled in yesterdays
Births, embraces, shared love and pain
Good days, bad times, today it rains

Like the pieces in a lovely quilt
Scraps from memories tucked away
Some are vivid and vibrant, filled with joy
Others are dark and sad, always overcome

Pieces now laid out before me
Forming photos in my mind, a recall of time
The placement of each scrap a memory
Placed along my heart to touch

One by one they are assembled
Perhaps quickly, as the need arises
The quilt is growing with each passing day
Yesterdays, tomorrows, again and again

Today is almost gone, yet it too will fade
When will tomorrow begin?
Will it be filled with dreams unfulfilled
Or shall I wish it away as so many others

When tonight I sleep will I awake?
Or will tomorrow never come

Linda~!

So beautiful - one line in particular that I love, "History is filled in yesterdays" . . . a very insightful, heartfelt penning!!

Hugs,

Lance

You have pieced together memories to keep in your heart! The promises of another day can never be made.

Reflecting on it gave me the inspiration to tell you that I had a very good time riding to church camp today with my 3rd Daughter Kaye. She talked of her grandmother and how she died and we reminisced about yesterday, but got back into today. I am not afraid of not waking up, I know if the good lord wants me he will take me morning noon night or whenever. I am ready anytime but must survive meanwhile and thank him for each day he gives me to go on with life and do things I wish to do too and be at peace either way.

That is a very good question Linda but I feel that tomorrow never comes for it is always today. Thank you for sharing your words.

This is a very good poem which makes people think about tommorow.I guess we can't predict what's ahead tomorrow, but focus on today and focus on the here and now.
