DON'T TAKE YOUR MOUTH TO TOWN GIRL

Don't take your mouth to town girl,

That's what mom told me

Closed my ears and packed it full

No one could steer this child

Climbed on the bus and knew my course

Would take me to the gang

They always cursed and burst my hopes

This day I'd waited for

There they stood in circle wide

That was their style these girls of wild

Waiting there for me

As I stepped down and headed south

Right into the center

Armed with more than I had planned

Before the voice came to visit me

I knew this day would come real soon

The day to chose or lose

As I faintly heard those words from mom

Don't take your mouth to town girl

I smiled and knew it had to be

They saw the flicker in my eyes,

Stood closer as they thought I'd cry

No holding back this day I prayed

Took my hands out of the bag that held

This  holy book of mine

He knew I had been wrong

but trusted me to follow Him

He said....Go ahead and take your mouth,

Fill it with me and my words will come

The moment you begin to speak

Do not grow weak or weary with fear my girl

The words I promise you, will come

Shaking was no longer me, fear had passed me by

I held the book high as I could

and then the words came out

We are the daughters of the mighty King

Why do we waste our time with this

When we can be more than we dream

If we use our mouth for better things

The circle of girls drew closer to my chest

With looks of doubt and smiles that smirked

Yet, somehow I saw one little face that touched my hand

"I'd like to read that book of yours, I have dreams I want to fill"

The others looked around and realized, the little girl was

who we are....she spoke for me, she spoke for them,

somehow she heard the words He had given me....

Each morning as we leave our homes, we hear the words

"Don't forget to take your mouth to town girls...."

the world is waiting near and far

to hear what He tells you"
