"If only" we knew then what we know now,
"If only" we'd make it different somehow.
"If only" we could go way back in time,
"If only" today would be so sublime!

"If only" we could compensate the bad,
"If only" we'd now have memories glad!
"If only" we remembered God each day,
"If only" He would somehow make a way!

"If only" we could let our faith arise,
"If only" there would be no more goodbyes!
"If only", do you ever say these words?
If so, remember, they don't go unheard...

For high in Heaven our God omniscient
Knows all about our past and our present.
He knew from the start just how we would be,
He made a provision for you and for me!

The ultimate choice lies deep in our soul
To make Him supreme and Heaven our goal!
For on judgement day, we'll have no regret,
And "if only" cannot be used as a threat!
