How difficult it is to say that final goodbye

It was 1986 - early February

You both knew something was wrong -- but what?

Even the doctors were confused

He fell seemingly on the icy road -- days later his arm started to feel weak

Doctor visits ensued along with a stay in the hospital and many tests

We purchased an inexpensive arm sling for his arm to no avail

The final diagnosis was brain lesions -- the number indicating it was too late for a cure

Four months slipped by so radidly you could hardly believe it

Before we knew it we were heading for the church -- then to the cemetery where we would lay him to rest

You knew you could never say goodbye -- as you lingered at his gravesite

Speaking so softly it was almost a whisper as you said

So long, Frank ......

the words ... till we meet again stayed captured in your heart.

Powerfully emotive and meaningful, Susan. My words cannot do justice to such an event. Love and best wishes to you,

Well told, Susan. It's a sad, but familiar pattern. His passing obviously has left you with poignant memories.

From something so simple as a fall, as an innocent fall. How sad that one never knows from where or how a simple occurrence might cause a life to change, or to end.Very well written, and extremly heartrending.
