We, you and me,

we who write.

Too bad Dad’s not...

Yes,

possibly some do write  

to please themselves.

However...

Too bad Dad’s not here...

We who write,

at least for me,

I write so others

may see what I see,

so others

may feel what I feel.

Too bad Dad’s not here to...

Words I fear

for I want to see

my "Climbing Boy"

ablaze in living color.

I want to see

Mitchell love and lose

and “Become” a man.

Too bad Dad’s not here to see...

I want to hear the

words I’ve written

spoken aloud,

and heard.

I want to see the scenes

I’ve seen in my mind  

ablaze in living color

so others will see

what I see,

so others will feel

my written passion.

So others will be

immersed

within what I’ve created.

Words I will never hear.

Words I fear...

“Too bad Dad’s not here to see this!”

Because, damn-it!

I want to be here

when what I’ve created,

when the words,

when the people,

when the scenes

I’ve created

are emblazoned in living color.
