This is a poem I wrote for my dead husband after I buried him. He was an abusive man and a criminal but I loved him and I still do.
God spoke the kindest words to Joe. He said, "Come with me."..... There is more for you to learn here by my side, as you rest eternally. .. For the good things you have done; which are few, they will be judged forever more.... And for all the sins you still have left, I will truly forgive you for....

Personal comment: Interesting that you believe God has forgiven him. I pray that he was the one asking for that forgiveness. I'm not sure I could ever love and forgive someone who abused me...
