Her Favorite Things
She knits kerchiefs on Wednesday after school then her freckled face follows Brownie home; as her pet horse gallops to the fence for corn, and she runs with glee to meet him.
While he eats a fawn crosses the path, the surprise shocks and leaves her speechless as she gathers her calm, the hens peck her toes; soon her dad comes in from the bamboo bottoms.
Every limb on the tree was dancing; even the water that giggles over the rocks was delighted and happy to see dad as she wore the kerchief she made Wednesday after school.
