One more tear

Lying here shedding my tears, I here the rain, the thunder and lighten

While lying here in my bed, one more tear I shed.

My husband needed an excuse to leave tonight, so he needed to pick

a fi ght

Th at means leaving me for the rest of the night.

He reminded me night after night of the imperfect person

I am.

How sad that made me, I felt I’ll never be the person he wanted me to

be.

Nothing he brought to the table I tried to keep our lives stable.

I felt my soul getting cold

Our lives begin to unfold.

He slept during the day and partied at night

Th en with me he would pick a fi ght. He told me many time things

would never be right.

Times I felt I was being punished for a crime I didn’t commit,

Only to summit my love he treated like a nickel and dime.

My tears I continued to roll as I felt my life unfold.

I can hear the rain disappear; once or twice thunder was still near.

I thank God for my career and not shed another tear.

When I dried my tears, my soul still felt empty inside. Th at point in

time I knew that

I had done the right thing. I knew I had done my best and my soul is

at rest.

To understand why I decided to divorce was best for me. I had to

open some old wounds and refl ect back on the man I so dearly

love made me feel so unalive.

I lost sight of who I was.

What makes a women lose their identity

Th is was no way to love

One more tear I cried
