I certainly hope not. However, if Heilbroner was right, we are on the train headed for the brink with the richest riding in the caboose and the poorest already jumping from the locomotive as it plunges off the cliff at the end of the line.
The Earth will exist for another 10,000,000,000 years or so, regardless of the life on it. Perhaps a smarter humanity than ours will arise in time.

Scary, not so crazy idea...the poem mixes tears and rain, heartbreak: floods, super storms, ice melting, oceans rising...it's all inside this beautiful poem...
