For some, healing comes only after the unexpected offers trust and respect.

Living Alive

Her ache
Touches me
Like a run-away train
Longing to be a meandering stream

 Her voice
A soft echo
The timbre of past life remembering
Its movement a willow tree's lament

She walks
Paths unseen by most
Holding my hand
Maternal nature unbound

When sleeping
The quiet of her breath
Weaves thatched cover
Securing my storm-filled dreams

 Upon awakening
My mind begs the heart calm
My spirit fearful of day's dawning

She beckons I return to her side
Stroking my cheek
Assuring me
There be no light out there
Not already within me

What healing comfort
This lifetime
Before her eyes

the light within shines from anothers love. A beautiful piece.

I agree with John about the great feeling of tenderness (and understanding) here. The last three lines touched me deeply and have the particular quality of a haiku.

Odin,
you display great tenderness here
and project the spirit of the beloved
as well as the lover; yes, it has an air
Byron would be proud of..Kate's right..
and combine that with sensuousness Keats
achieves and we have a very special work indeed

"There be no light out there/Not already within me" what a profound mantra. ~ ~ Diana

For it is only one who can truly touch the heart and calm the soul, even if it takes reassuring time to time. To live and to become alive is all that is needed for she has surely brought this to you.

This is a refreshing point-counterpoint with a jnd of indivisible surveillance that covers everything to uncover even more of a radiant relationship... there's even an air of infallibility in the ineffable fallible tone like the poem about that certain someone who never fails to understand you... and we forgive them even that.

A beautiful personification of "the unexpected", Odin; almost Byronic, as in "She Walks in Beauty", with its studied grace and wrapt introspection. These lines are breathtaking:

Her ache
Touches me
Like a run-away train
Longing to be a meandering stream

When sleeping
The quiet of her breath
Weaves thatched cover
Securing my storm-filled dreams

This is like the clear, clean, simple lines of light that follow in the wake of a storm. This is one of my favourites of yours, to be sure. Quite fabulous! :)) xx
