Play-actor Slavery

Climbing rock and swimming the ocean has a magic all its own. For some of us, it doesn’t get any better. For many others… (Image by Pinterest)

Play-actor Slavery
by Odin Roark

Mountains and sea
will live as they are,
knowing they are stone and water,
accepting erosion and weather,
embracing their harmony with honesty.

Oceans don't complain.
they tide high and low tide,
build and release pressure,
then patiently await the next cycle.

Mountains reject weakness,
hold their strength tight,
occasionally sending time's-cost
to the valley floor as scree.
But resent?
Regret?
Become moody because they might not represent the highest peak?

I think not.

Now humans…

Will the species ever accept itself?

Will we ever accede to who we are,
not who other people think we should be?

Nature does have its change of moods,
but it doesn't long to be something it's not.
Sea = water
Stones = rock
Sun up = beginning
Sun down = consummation.

Just being.
No enhancement needed.
No desire to replace or swap.

Fortunately…

Unlike humans,
Nature knows not of solipsistic neurosis,
it exists free of transient play-actor slavery.

as a product of Mother Nature, the human beings have nothing what their great mother has not. In the sense, volcanoes and earth quarks in many can be regarded as her 'neurosis.' In former times, some humans could rule the weather and change the climate for a short while, to say nothing of the contemporaries who are able to ruin the planet shortly. The 'transient play-actor slavery,' in other words, is the ritual method of communication and survival in the jungle of glass and metal. Cheers, alex

For me solipsism has always been a fool's football. The highest peak, the lowest valley. Right or wrong, someone, or something, has to be on the top in this world and the same holds true of the bottom. Both seem always to be unnecessarily bizarre characters given to extremes as is being evidenced now all over the globe. Nature changes, as we do, over time and with sudden provocation. The question is how the citizens are going to fare in the coming storm. I relate to your thoughts, Odin. Well done. r

The very nature of playacting is not being oneself but assuming the role of someone else. And with it, all of the baggage of emotion.

Cool write.

"Nature knows not of solipsistic neurosis," that why we turn as often as possible to nature, its signs and messages, for advice and solace, as you have done so well here. John

Case in point: "My temperament is my best quality.
If I lose it was rigged.
If I win you're going to jail.:
