Although my doctor says I’m not ready to check out quite yet. Still, I project on how it might be.

Ashes in Waiting
by Odin Roark

Temporarily housed am I.

Time’s dust to dust,
now in once vacuous vessel,
reminds daily,
today’s filled becomes,
tomorrow’s empty,
patiently waiting

Its contents about to be
afloat by day’s night,
empowered by night’s day,
infused of galactic wonder,
forever journey’s infinity.

For might airborne echoes thrive
as microbial nomads in journey,
collecting resonance once of past elements,
now of whispered sunrises?

For everyday…

Eulogies dominate,
preparing for God’s world, says one.
He will be missed, says another.
Humanist’s words drift quietly
with no need for sound,
traveling through one’s translucent walls,
gathering costumes once performing,
now but shouldered discard baggage,
traveling toward destiny’s next adventure.

Hypocrisy mingles among the sanctimoniously truthful,
swirling flavors of life’s recipe,
a cosmic cauldron’s of infinite jest,
simmering denied evolution’s serving.

Meanwhile, eternity’s bonafide palate awaits.

Capsulized in the future…

My enclosure of porcelain walls,
invisibly inscribed with sagacious maxims
will remain my most endeared leave-behinds.
Wisdom once unknown,
discovered along the way when time
was still forging ahead.

Sadly…

Few know such consciousness,
hear both laughter and weeping,
know tears make room for joy,
that spent ducts of yesterday’s emotion
are but purging for futures to fill.

Yet, only now…

Through translucent vistas
do I see the savants’ words,
void of once challenged cognition,
now pure essence. Perhaps naked.
Like me.

How untainted foreseen freedom,
floating among the acquitted stars,
where guilt be not known,
where words transcend their meaning,
evaporating into all that is,
all that might be.

Some day…

I’ll be thrown free,
ash forever becoming one with the unknown,
the merging of life’s molecular-transients,
swirling from a cliff
upon ocean’s draft,
to mingle with eternity.

Time never runs short,
though the journey long,
where active beings,
sometimes human,
sometimes of different life form,
always remain moving,
traveling beside us,
never to be
idle turns of the hourglass.

Ah…

To once again soar,
rest,
evolve,
await,
become further love...

yet to be discovered.

Your prose really shines in this one. Showing that you've reached an epitome of life where all the living has come to. Where you can now rest in the assumption that no more wisdom needs to be acquired.

The other day I came to the conclusion myself that while I might write another book or put together a book of short stories I continue to write, I am well satisfied with where I am at life and when the pain is too great and the struggle is too hard, it will be all right for me to come up with a way to end nicely and quietly.

I guess I will have to find a place where they will make my ashes and pay them in advance.

Keep those wings spread wide brother. Find the high-currents and soar on them for awhile. Heartfelt and transparent. Peace to you... r

From whence we came we will return. The end is just the beginning. What a ride! Beautifully written!

Love ya!

It is a moment we witness in others' journies, but not our own

Some miraculous phrasing here:
"Time never runs short"
"to mingle with eternity"
"I'll be thrown free"

An act of discovery in what it means to be discovered in the cycle of life. Meanwhile, the pen keeps dripping.
