An Incarnate Presence
Who might he be?
What might he be imitating?
That Italian Dictator from the 2nd World War?
How might it be smothering our populace into compliance?
Yes…
At the podium,
the man now insensitive,
the man unaware this is not 1942.
Troubling…
Such a populace unconscious
to the reality of subterfuge,
to carnival barker rhetoric,
the ill self-appointed leader begging, pandering,
glad-handing the uninformed.
My God…
What the hell has so corrupted our senses,
that sentient consciousness,
the single most valued gift of our species?
It’s called programed ignorance.
Help!!!!!
Love ya!

There was a knee-jerk cheer and staccato clapping that reminds me of the canned laughter of a sitcom, or worse, the Heil Hitler! blind obedience. His way of bringing everyone together was to tell everyone that they will all get everything they want even though most know they won't. Some of the people that he singled out seem to be very uncomfortable being spotlighted like that or even associated with a man.
Sooner or later he will be gone. Hopefully it will be sooner.
But then, Joe Kennedy's speech was rather lame and formula. Dynasties never live up to the original.
