To Covet…
Is to desire that which is not yours
Is to wish for a girl when a boy is born
Is to yearn for another when the baby dies
Is to crave fertility when all is removed.
To pray…
Is to ask for divine help
Is to trust all is how it should be
Is to believe adoption is a blessing
Is to know answers will be the right ones.
To be rewarded…
Is to find a child’s laughter infectious
Is to once again hold tight to your mate
Is to raise the boy with protection and guidance.
To feel from afar…
Is a mother’s plight when her boy leaves the nest and moves on
Is a boy’s appreciation of the principles in his raising
Is when New York is accepted as the growing up beginning
Is when New York is a faraway continuance from Salt Lake City
Is when parents and child accept distance is not a separation.
To become a parent yourself…
Is to finally understand the heavy load mothers and fathers carry
Is to give credit to a child’s grandparents
Is to be grateful for health and undiminishing experience
Is to know growing old can be growing young again
Is to find children and grandchildren require precious guidance
Is to accept long ago adoption as a blessing.
To remain living well…
Is a gratefulness unspoken at times
Is to pass on teachings and principles
Is to know a father’s legacy is about who he is, not any willed riches
Is to know escaping who you were not began the journey of honesty.
Is to forever stay mindful of a mother’s gift
To covet is a mind trick of becoming or having that which was never meant to be.
My parents, were young and had no delusions of becoming great. They were hard-working and loving like yours. While I have not had the experience of having any children of my own, I've always had my mother and thought of her during these many Mother's Days as the one who guided me most in my life and made sure that I was always protected when I needed it. But it was the freedom she gave me, that was most important. The ability to let me make my own mistakes and grow up quickly. Not be dependent upon anyone, regardless of my circumstances.
From my observation, you come from some very good genetic stock. I'm glad you are using it wisely and not burning it on both ends like so many do.
