In this silence I struggle
Because its you I need
to fulfill a hidden desire that is
bursting to come out
I knew it was you that I wanted
from the very open of the play
and no I didn't say
what I needed to then
Funny I know
Being we were as close
as any two people could be
Man or Woman or within each one of two
but in the middle of those moves
I neglected to reflect on you
and the nature of my true feelings
maybe it was
I shied away
from what it is
you would have
or could have
said
rejection is a solo reflection
of something that is beyond my reach
topped off with the inner world wind
of the center of every emotion I have left
and never could I have known what was felt
or what I would feel
all that's in this, that is real
within the midmost of appeal
the fantasy seals the deal
us on an island
somewhere
kicking back in the sun
with me being the one
the only one
you share your life with
in these thoughts my mind sit
idle, cripple, and quiet
by the sin-ful-ness of my silence
They say poetry is like breathing, it needs to be free - like these verses. Your expression of the message (unspoken feelings) was as natural as breathing and I know you let it out effectively. I think the word "idol" should have been "idle" -correct me if I'm wrong, ok?
