There Will be Roses

Thoughts on a break-up.

Last night I tossed and turned like rough seas

thinking of them, imagining their break-up.

How I hope both of them will find love again.

What it must seem to feel incomplete, lost.

As I passed my favorite gas station, peace

almost rolled in like fog. If you wait, the cost

of fuel drops enough to make a difference.

In awhile, they will refuel and all of this will

be that image in a rear view mirror. Seeing

is like looking through a sun visor right now.

We roll on with hope on high beam, salvation.

There will be lightness. There will be roses.

The economy as a metaphor for relationship - it works well. Your gift for seeing things from a unique perspective is splendid.

She Intrigues Me, Revelations Of Love by Jon Willey

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
