I wrote this poem for a project a friend of mine was working on. She asked me to write a peace prayer from the Goddess perspective. I'm not a poet, and for what it's worth this is the result.
A Prayer to the Great Mother
Great Mother, please forgive us the sins we have committed.
Sins against the Earth
Sins against each other
Sins of hatred and intolerance
These sins against our Souls.
Your Soul.
Great Mother, Goddess of Earth, Giver of Life
Gather us in your ephemeral arms.
Ease our wounds
Comfort our Souls
Calm our wild and mercurial minds
Remind us that we are Brothers and Sisters
bound together by your bountiful Love
And to injure one another is to injure our Spirit.
Your Spirit.
Great Mother, show us the Way.
Limn our Path to Love with silvery light
So we may follow without fear.
Let the sound of laughter fill the air
And May the Great God spread his warm golden rays to light our Way,
Shining in our upturned smiling faces.
This speaks my language totally. I love Stephen King as well. I always sign my messages with "love and peace." Lovely poem. Thank you.

Simply excellent and so very well wriiten. I too am a big lover of Stephen King. I have all of his books in hard back for my collection. His style of writing can sometimes leave one's imagintion to roam and to explore inwards. You stated that you are not a poet, sure could have fooled me!!
