I Cried Because I Care

Brisk; Wind, Rain and Life-
The same as Mine; Yours and Theirs-
I cried when I felt your pain-
I cried because I care

Traveling through time as though it never ends,
catching tailwinds and bowing to nothing or nobody-
Invincible; The craving for excitement without pause-
Oh but I touch emptiness in this moment, but it's your face I see

Yes I say, it's your face; The face of mine; The face of beauty-
The face of pain; anguish and honestly knowing life as it is-
Calling out the name; and knowing it will answer back-
not wanting or expecting any kind of self justice

I cried when I felt your pain; I cried because I care-
Look at me! Look at me, and hear my woes-
Turn away only when you can't stand it anymore-
still I see your pain, Oh the hurt, Yes the hurt, still shows

Not knowing when; Or if our time has come;
We'll turn to face death just in time to sigh-
Look at me! Look at me and hear my woes-
It's only because I care, that I cry

Our world has been given it's own life sentences,
today; tomorrrow, maybe not- Who knows?
Take me to the garden where beauty astounds-
Take me to the garden where newness grows

Fading into the distance; Exploiting life as it falls-
I just follow the chalklines, neverending lanes and lines-
My horizons no longer exist, and eternity will not call-
sweetness is to bitter; as war is to wine

I would not cry, if I didn't care;
somehow nothing ever seems fair-
I touch emptiness; and your golden hair-
I've wiped all the tears; that we ever shared

Sweetness is to bitter; As war is to wine;
Romance is to hate; As black is to white-
Light is to shadow; As turn is to see-
Face is to notice; As death is to sight

Oh I would not cry; If I didn't care;
how badly you hurt; In this world we share-
Today is not over; Can we call it a truce?
and save just one life, of our dying youths?
