There are three thousand missing children from Katrina and that doesn't count any that are missing from Rita. If you know anyone who was in the flood areas and you don't know what became of the families, please check the page listed below for the children and the adults. Thank you!

Lost, Lonely Faces

Where is my mama, I am missing my dad

I’m lost and I’m frightened, where’s the family I had

Three thousand children no longer at home

The hurricanes placed them in shelters, alone

Perhaps they’re with grandma or a host family

But bringing them home will set their souls free

They are victims of nature, moved to a safe place

But they still miss their families and their mother’s embrace

I hope that we find them, among all the lost

And bring families together, no matter the cost

A very sad situation and a scarey tragedy that will never leave these poor little innocent minds. I so hope they are soon with their families in the embraces of their family really soon.
This poem is so loving so heartfelt as you reached right inside them and told the world and so of you and your Beautiful Heart Soul
You are a Beautiful Lady Sherry.

A very sad plight which rips into the soul of us all, Sherry. All ramifications aside, children are the core of the hurt of all the lost, lonely faces, human, animal or floral.

Your soul is very special in its directional compass, I feel much warmth from your singular words, which expands beyond the one to the many.

Yours,

This is unbearable! So what it must be like to be caught up in this tragedy I can hardly even begin to imagine. Salt in the wound, to have suffered such utter devastation and trauma, only to be ultimately separated from loved ones at the end of it. Obviously, safety measures need to be in place to protect the displaced, weak and vulnerable innocents, but may there be many compassionate arms to help soothe the wounded mind, bodies and spirits in this period of limbo and waiting. May many miraculous reunions also take place to reduce this staggering number. Each one accomplished an absolute wonder to those experiencing it. Each one still rootless is an unbearable sorrow which I pray will be alleviated somehow. And that these precious young lives will be given strength to go on. Thank for your love and prayers today, Sherry. I am sure all will be well. Bless you and thank you. Kate xx

I had no idea the number was so great. Thank you so much for penning this, Sherry. Your poems are always something to look forward to as you put so much forethought and impeccable form to them. This one in particular has the potential to keep these children front of mind and spirit. Thanks, Dawn

Sherry, this is a heart wrenching piece. Little faces, so sad, so bewildered, so needing to be with their loved ones...many unable to speak for themselves. Bless you for doing so for them. Sometimes the greatest victims of these storms are the littlest ones. Michelle
