On Embracing Our Final Journey.

~Oh Death, Where to Now?~

Oh Death, where to now
that you reach for me?

Worldly toils gladly shed,
sublime joys adhere.
But why strive and struggle so,
when Release claims all?

Oh Death, where to now
that you seize my heart?

Earth’s beauty counters nature’s might,
sustaining tattered soul.
Why destroy its fragile creations,
when Spirit they bear?

Oh Death, where to now
that you grip me so?

Love mends ignorance and cruelty,
as moon and sun temper despair.
Why then this endless Chaos?

Oh Death, where to now
that I must trust in you?

How I embraced life,
all its darkness funneled through light.
So why the lop-sided ledger,
when End arrives?

Oh Death, where to now
that I am yours?

Perfection’s false promise erodes,
while Compassion’s wisdom rings true .
Why is it then,
that Change forever rules?

Change does forever rule...the secrets and pain we carry deep inside cauterizes our bound soul...that familiar cauterization burning in the gut...the damn silence for fear of hurting family...we dare not speak the truth...the torturous lies and injustices, the abuses, the wrongs...the cries unheard...only then it is, into middle-age when we bury our mothers and others when we finally break the chains and speak of it and we are indeed free from guilt and...

Thought provoking write! Yes, death is real, the twin sister of birth...to learn of the Islamic view please check out my little poem: "Blindfolded" I've also an article posted under the title: "Death".

Ontological and teleological thoughts mingle to question on life in eternity. "Oh Death, Where to Now?" is a philosophical and poetic masterpiece.

Thank You, Sublime Poet for posting this magnificent poem.
