Old man poised over ship’s bow,
Dense fog rolling in,
Watery chasm looms below,
What thoughts freeze thy pensive gaze so?
Early morning quietude,
Rhythmic lapping waves,
Creased and weathered face of grace,
To what murky depths do thy keen eyes penetrate?
What time-ripened soliloquy bemuses thee,
And would ye share a line or two,
‘bout thy long road’s end,
That ye greet with unruffled confidence?
Oh, what treasures thy heart must conceal,
Those that rich experience do yield,
With its laughter and sorrow, joy and pain, love and loss,
Pray, could it be the Illusion is real?
Solitary wizard of time embracing a sea of Peace,
Do outstretched hands await thee in that mist,
Or life’s familiar faces ‘neath those gently heaving swells,
Oh, what soulful song do ye softly hum,
As Enfoldment transports thy lovely Light?

Are you suggesting the one I think you are? "Pray, could it be the Illusion is real?" She does not have a weathered face of grace..."Solitary wizard of time embracing a sea of Peace"
From the arcane of a wise heart "Weathered Face of Grace" comes live to question on life and esoteric situations, delivering its contents of a true poem.
This seems to me to be a mystical fairy-tale write of a supposed "last journey" of a seasoned and wise life-traveller. I loved the imagery used, but equally the sense of being put in mind of the REAL people who we know and respect who wear the visage of a life of experience and depth of wisdom that is intriguing and magnetic. The last line is quite beautiful -- like being translated between earth and heaven. Thank you for this. Kate x
