~cinders~

 

 

soft flickering flames

stirring thoughts primordial

mesmerizing glow

 

potent force subdued

dance of light as cinders glow

memories unbound

 

consume to create

fearsome gift of warmth and sight

purify fouled worlds

 

phoenix rise renewed

shake off suffocating ash

winged flight sets fresh course

i'm sitting here watching the last glows
that set off this musing and am as primordial
as what's consumed, and from the dying fire
that has purified 'fouled worlds' (i love how you put that)
the new phoenix rises and 'sets fresh course'..
when this level of thought and intelligence and craft with words
combine the work is a sheer pleasure for the reader.
This is very fine indeed, Carolyn.
