Sir Richard's comment (below) has prompted this clarification: "Quilt" is a tribute to my very artistic sister, Diane, who made exquisite quilts for her two sisters. She did so despite recent recovery from a very painful hand surgery. That she is a dedicated craftsman/artist does not begin to honor her creative gift. Bountiful Blessings Dear Little Sis!

Like many arts and crafts this one
is not much seen anymore in the West,
certainly not as much as it used to be,
but still thrives here in some parts of Asia.

of its purpose, a healing from the heart

"Broken hand be damned" indeed. A metaphor here that could easily undergird many scenarios. Hope it's not yours CGMB. My Grandmother Gunvor was a quilter. Still have one of them. Sadly I don't think I know anyone anymore with the patience for the craft. Enjoyed this. Peace to you ... richard
