Challenges come each day

You hear them on the news

People tell of their problems

And rightly so-

How are we to be hope

for others when we are

dealing with our own troubles?

I can only tell you my solution

No matter what happens

I know that Jesus is in me

and with me to help and understand

I know I have made vows to follow Jesus

and I want to keep those vows

which are joy, perseverance, compassion, and surrender

Those were not empty vows

They weren't just words

Those were my promises to God

that I would do my best every day
