Acrylic "Not Until" (reclining nude) by Julianza Shavin

My new favorite word: "hm." Well, here you have it, from a trilogy during a particularly flagellating day with my recalcitrant muse. This is to get me where I'm trying to go: to the symbiosis, or is that parasitism?... of vowels on cliffs (from a friend's poem) (shamelessly lifted and admitted to) (imitation is the sincerest form, and all that) and consonants/dipthongs in ocean tides. Whatever. It is necessary to go off deep and shallow ends once in a while. Ok, not necessary; not a choice. So,today's little ditty: Coping 101. Ps my computer is showing all kinds of weird stuff before the poem, where I tried to paste it in text: Does this show on your machine? How to get rid of it all? I was unsuccessful in pasting and banishing. Thanks for help.

Poem Artwork

         Do Not Open

How was love?  It endured.

It was the thing I doubted least

until I doubted doubt itself.

Yes, there are paths out of

the land of Anhedonia --

watching a leaf pirhouette

in a charitable breeze,

caressing a shoot of an

infant hydrangea rooted

in summer's soft loam of hope,

scurrying frantic and harried

over obfuscating work like ants

beneath an old lifted brick,

setting pen to paper, -- or simply

resting a heavy head upon soft down

a sign on the door commanding

Do not open Until

Interesting and "soul-grabbing" as usual. I find AD very difficult when it comes to formatting of any kind. Thank you for sharing this gift, Julie. Love and hugs,

Regis

Julie, that reclining nude disturbs me, in a way a crazy guy likes
to be disturbed. And the poem--I think it's damn near perfect the
way it is. Such an intelligent write. What else? And: rooted in summer's soft loam of hope...A beautiful line. -gene.

Can't help with the editing, but I absolutely adore the vision you painted on my eyes. I'm glad I opened this chest of wonders. :) Well done, Julianza.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given day.

On the Edge of Words by Debra Kraft

Questions, unquestioned discoveries, and answers in parable and rhyme…. This collection records a journey starting with a 1960s retrospective and the first man on the moon, moving to a new millennium welcomed in with a terrorist spin, family crises,
